Announcing two on-line courses in Unix and Free Software for students and staff

Two on-line courses in Unix and Free Software for students and staff will be held from 5 January to 1 March 2015

This is a joint project by the Faculty Linux Initiative, the Department of Computer Engineering
and the Engineering Education Unit.


1. History of Linux and the Software Freedom: An interactive, self-paced, self-study course
which is also a demonstration course in Moodle. Open from 5 January to 1 March to all (with
an FEeLS account)

2. An Introduction to the Unix Command Interface: The absolute minimum needed to work
in the Unix/Linux command line is introduced through hands-on exercises in six weekly units. The course starts on 19 January, the registration is open until 8 February.

Open for Computer Engineering students.
Open for a selected number of Linux enthusiasts in the Faculty, among students, academic
and non-academic staff who have completed the course no 1.
